Involvement Opportunities

This is a pivotal moment for our social work profession, and we need you.

TFRL Membership Structure

TFRL now has multi-pronged membership!

TFRL was launched and operates under NADD, spearheaded by those currently and previously serving as social work program deans, directors, and chairs. The new TFRL membership structure now welcomes involvement from any dedicated advocates to advancing equity within social work licensure and diversity of the profession's workforce in alignment with our core beliefs and aims. â€‹

Individuals may serve within one or multiple threads based upon their expertise and interest, current and past roles, and evolving TFRL needs. Subcommittees are chaired by Task Force Executive Group (TEG) members and are composed of all threads.

TFRL members are essential to generating a strong and diverse licensed social work profession.

01

Task Force Executive Group (TEG)

The Task Force Executive Group (TEG) is the equivalent of the original Task Force to Reform Licensure (TFRL). TEG membership is composed of current and past deans, directors, and chairs of NADD member programs. TEG is responsible for all policy and

implementation decisions. Co-chairs lead TEG. TEG guides the overall direction of all TFRL threads. Sub-committees to operationalize the work are developed by need; TEG members co-chair and participate in these sub-committees. TEG members are also urged to assume responsibilities for their respective regions.

02

Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

Faculty, staff, and members of the practice and policy community are accepted as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to collate, curate, and disseminate licensure-related materials to the general public. They are guided by the TEG co-chairs or their designee. As such, they may be requested to serve on a sub-committee. Depending on their role, they may be granted editorial access to public-facing sections of the website, like Documents, Forums, and Groups. Specific requests may be made by TEG co-chairs or designees based upon individual expertise, TFRL priorities, and identified needs.

03

Stakeholder Allies

All stakeholders wishing to see changes in the social work licensure process are encouraged to consider the thread of Stakeholder Allies. These individuals and organizations collaborate with TFRL and serve as

ambassadors for outreach and influence within their respective communities. Stakeholder Allies include faculty, staff, practitioners, students, state legislators, organizations working for meaningful change in the social work licensure process, and other social work organizations who adhere to the goals set by TFRL.  Depending on skills, expertise, and TFRL specific-role, they may be requested to serve on a sub-committee.

TFRL Sub-committees

Sub-committees are integral to the advancement of TFRL's work, to build a diverse, licensed workforce. Task Force Executive Group (TEG) identifies and prioritizes needs for TFRL's work and establishes sub-committees as a result. TFRL currently includes three (3) sub-committees: (1) Alternative Licensure Pathways; (2) Toolkit for Advocacy; and (3) Dissemination. Sub-committee membership

Sub-committees are (co-)chaired by TEG members, and both leadership and membership are overseen by TEG co-chairs (and/or their designees). Sub-committees include representatives from all three (3) threads of involvement: (1) Task Force Executive Group (TEG); (2) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs); and (3) Stakeholder Allies. TEG co-chairs (and/or their designees) strive to align TFRL sub-committee needs with TFRL member interests, experiences, and strengths.
